VISION, MISSION & VALUES

WHO WE ARE

Vision, Mission & Values

Vision

Making a REAL difference in indigenous communities while maintaining a successful reputable Company.

Mission

Building capacity with Government and indigenous organisations to enable them to contribute effectively and meaningfully in the development of their indigenous communities.
Kāhui Tautoko Consulting Ltd aims to achieve this vision and mission by entering into working partnerships with Government agencies and with indigenous organisations. Kāhui Tautoko Consulting today has a balance of clients who encompass both Government agencies and indigenous community organisations all working towards some aspect of indigenous community capacity building – either at an individual, family / whanau / fanau / ohana OR tribal / regional / provincial /national or / international level. The vision and mission means that Kāhui Tautoko Consulting will actively steer clear of working for clients who directly compete with indigenous organisations, or who do not share the same philosophy as us for indigenous development.

Values

We undertake to:
Listen to you
This ensures we provide clients with a solution tailored specifically to their needs. Some organisations are not sure where to start; some have a plan but are unsure about how to implement it; some have implemented their plan but are not sure whether it is working. Some have been awarded funding but aren’t quite sure on implementation. We will listen to our clients’ needs and help to plan a way through to ensure success and accomplishment of any accountability requirements tied to funding.

Be honest with you
This is a core personal value for the Directors and underpins the Company’s service provision to clients. We will be honest with clients so that success is achievable and practical. We will tell it like it is and we hope clients are honest with us in return. We want to achieve a win-win solution for everyone. If we think you have over-scoped some work we will say so – similarly if we think you have under-estimated how long a project may take we will offer advice in this respect as well. The goal is to be realistic and pragmatic so there is every chance of success.

Communicate with you
We will ensure communication is clear and easily understood to a wide range of audiences. That means using client terminology wherever possible and not “bamboozling” people with fancy words or jargon. We will write project plans, reports, briefing notes, memoranda or any type of accountability report you need. We are happy to meet with you face to face or by video-conference and phone conference if that’s faster and easier (and less cost for you). We will meet over breakfast lunch or dinner and at the weekend if you need. Our job is to try and make it easy for you!

Maintain Positive Relationships
We have a strong focus on people and believe that relationships, both formal and informal, are the cornerstone of enduring success. We get to know not only our clients, but also the clients of organisations we work with to better understand their drivers, pressures and aspirations. Our reputation relies on maintaining good relationships and having fun with the people we work with. We protect these friendships by ensuring we deliver on our projects and do not place these good friends in awkward or uncomfortable positions.
